Balkan Insight has an article highlighting a new concept in tourism. Ten young Serbs have started a web site called www.belgradealtguide.com and their plan is to offer tours of the real Belgrade that tourists might not otherwise see. I think this is a fantastic idea. I always prefer to stay with locals or to go to places where I know someone so I can get to know the real city. It’s nice to see the attractions, but I like to “go native”.
The idea, it seems, is for students and young people from Belgrade to show visitors a different side to the city, to help them uncover places that only the locals know.
