In an apparent pre-emptive strike by pigs in Oregon a 70-year-old man is dead.  The assumption being that he was eaten by his 700 lb. hogs.  It is obvious to me that this poor farmer’s pigs realized that soon the price of their bellies would far out-weigh any emotional attachment that he might have for them.  In a daring attack at daybreak the hogs overwhelmed the elderly man and drew first blood.  No word yet on whether or not the BLTS (Bacon Lettuce and Tomato Syndicate) had any involvement but rumors circulating in law enforcement is that they were about to strike a deal with the farmer for the pigs.

This will get worse before it gets better.  The headlines the last few days have been trying to down play the shortage, but it is obvious to many observers that bacon money is in play amongst the media.
